Mission Statement:  You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden...In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.  Matthew 5:14, 16

Five essential priorities of Buechel Park Women on Mission are:

  1. Pray for missionaries and give financially to support missions: pray for unbelievers missionaries can’t reach.
  2. Do Missions:  move outside the church building to reach the lost with the love and message of Jesus Christ
  3. Learn about missions:  have experiences that increase our awareness and knowledge of missions.
  4. Develop spiritually toward a mission’s lifestyle:  nurture one another and serve as spiritual mentors.
  5. Participate in the work of the church and the denomination:  take active part in BPBC and the CBF.

Buechel Park Baptist Church Women on Mission strive to accomplish these goals through the following groups.

Second Tuesday of each month:

Prayer Group - 10:00 am - This group consist of ladies who meet to pray for people on our church prayer list, missionaries, the church staff, people who are involved in mission projects and any other type of concern one might have. They have a devotion, discuss mission projects, and have a short program or DVD that is informational in the aspect of how we can meet the needs of people here at home and/or around the world.

Bible Study Group - 10:00 am - This group is a discussion group about a part of the Bible using the Bible and a study quide.  The discussion is led by a different member of the group each month.

General Meeting- 11:00 am -  The Prayer and Bible Study groups join for a short business meeting and program.  The program consists of speakers, devotionals, or CBF Global Missions videos. The meeting is followed by a pot luck luncheon and followship.

  2. Jeff Street at Liberty

Threads and Things-TNT

As part of our Women on Mission, this group currenly meets on Mondays at 2pm.  Some of the projects we contribute are knitted and/or crocheted hats, scarves, and mittens for community needs (SEAM, area schools, homeless shelters, etc.).  We also make necklaces for ourselves as well as the homebound.  We knit and crochet slippers form the homebound and those in nursing homes.  We make mastectomy pillows for those undergoing raditation.  We make hats that are knitted, cut, sewn, and stuffed quarterly and provided to five cancer resource centers for those losing hair while doing chemotherapy.  We also knit and crochet traech covers for those with a tracheotomy.  We blanket stich with yarn around throws for Baptist East babies and those undergoing chemotherapy.  Crosses continue to be made by Nancy Allen and she is instructing others how it is done.  Quilted baby blankets are also being made for Infant Resource Project by several ladies in the group.  It is a wonderful group and we enjoy our time together and providing for those in need.
