Rev. Jerry Benfield,
Rev. Benfield, a member of Buechel Park, brings over 30 years' ministry experience to the pulpit. He is a graduate of Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, Wake Forest, NC. Jerry is married with three children and six grandchildren. When not serving as interim minister, he enjoys singing in BPBC's choir.
Rev. Sara Clarke Turpin,
Associate Pastor for Spiritual Formation
Sara joined the Buechel Park Baptist staff in March 2013, having previously served as a youth minister for almost four years. She graduated from Georgetown College (BA & BS, 2009) and Baptist Seminary of Kentucky (Master of Divinity, 2013) and has completed one unit of Clinical Pastoral Education. Sara is currently involved in the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship as a CBF Fellow and on Current's Leadership Team. She serves on the Kentucky Baptist Fellowship Coordinating Council as chair of the Ministries Work Group and is a contributor to Youth Ministry Conversations' blog and Bible study resource. Sara is married to Neal and enjoys spending time with her family and friends, playing the flute, and working out at the YMCA.
David Allen Lindsay,
Minister of Music
Born in Norfolk, Virginia and lived in the Tidewater area until going to college, David has always been involved in church music and cannot remember a time when he was not singing in a choir!
While attending Carson-Newman University, he served several churches as part-time music director. Upon graduation, he became Minister of Music and Youth at Deep Creek Baptist Church in Chesapeake, Va., serving there for two years. David was then was called as Minister of Music and Youth at Monument Heights Baptist Church in Richmond, VA. While at Monument Heights, he also was a member of the Virginia Baptist Chorale, made up of Ministers of Music from throughout Virginia.
David also served as Minister of Music at First United Methodist Church of Hopewell, VA. For several years directing the Chancel Choir and hand bell. He has had the privilege of singing with a number of groups including the Baltimore Symphony Chorus and Chorale, the Kentucky Opera Chorus and the Indiana University Community Chorus.
For the past two and half-years, he was the music director at Hopewell Presbyterian Church in Jeffersontown, KY. David worked for Yum! Brands for nearly 30 years and is currently a business consultant and teacher in the Workforce Solutions Department of Jefferson Community Technical College.
Jessica Jenkins, Youth Ministry Summer Intern
Jessica, a member of Buechel Park, began serving as our Youth Ministry Summer Intern in May 2016. She will serve throughout the summer, primarily with youth, but in other areas as well.
Leigh Meers, Administrative Assistant
Leigh joined the Buechel Park Baptist staff in May 2014. She brings over 17 years’ experience as a conference and meeting planner/senior administrative assistant, serving in a religious denomination’s national offices in Louisville.
Howard Aubrey, Facilities Manager
Howard joined the Buechel Park Baptist staff in June, 1994. Previously he was custodian at St. Matthews Baptist Church in Louisville. Howard enjoys "taking care of [his] people at Buechel Park."
Brenda McDade, Pianist
Brenda joined the Buechel Park staff in February 2010. Previously, she was the pianist at Midlane Park Baptist Church. Brenda started taking piano lessons when she was 7. She studied piano as a Music Major at the University of Kentucky for 2 1/2 years. She enjoys spending time with her son Tommy and two young grandsons. Brenda works full-time as a Provider Service Specialist for Humana.
Kevin Vest, Organist and Music Associate
Kevin joined the BPBC staff in 2008. He is a native of East Tennessee and has been playing the organ in churches for over 25 years. Kevin has served as organist at Emmanuel Baptist Church, Jefferson City, TN; West Hills Baptist Church, Knoxville, TN; and St. Matthew's Baptist Church, Louisville, KY. He is a graduate of Carson-Newman University in Jefferson City, TN with a B.A. in Religion and Psychology. Kevin holds a minor in organ, studying with noted organist and composer Mary Charlotte Ball. He also works full-time as a low-voltage systems designer and estimator for Consolidated Electronic Systems. He enjoys spending time with his children - Matthew, age 13, and Michaela, age 9.
Nicole Davis, Parents' Day Out Director
Nicole began working at Parents Day Out in May, 2000. She became the Program Director in 2004. Nicole graduated from Sullivan University in 2013 with an Associate of Science Degree in Early Childhood Education, The Professional Nanny Diploma, and has earned the Kentucky Early Childhood Director's Credential Certificate. She loves working with young children and seeing the world through their eyes.
