Pastor's Paragraphs

The journey of Lent continues into March toward Easter's Celebration of Resurrection.  My hope is your personal journey and our journey together has been one in which you have incorporated some practice of prayer and devotion that has opened your life to God's life-giving peace and guiding grace.

There are several updates:
Sara Clarke: As you have read on the front page, Sara Clarke will join the staff on March 11th, and begin her pilgrimage of ministry with our youth as well as all of us who share life together at Buechel Park.  I am excited about her coming, the many gifts and experience she brings to her ministry to our youth.  Give her the Buechel Park welcome.  I am very grateful to Andrew Noe who has been providing leadership with our youth in the interim.

Church Secretary Search: The Personnel Ministry Team and I continue the search for church secretary.  Resumes are being gathered and interviews conducted as we are working to fill this important position.  I am most grateful to those who are helping us in the office with answering the phone and in other ways: Jan Causey and Carrie Bearden.  A special word of gratitude for Judy Witt for her willingness to take on some additional duties.

Dawnings: Buechel Park has the honor of being selected by the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship to be one of several churches involved in a pilot project.  Dawnings is the name given to a new way for local churches to discover, embrace, and live out God's call.  The process began with four of us (Don Rogers, Brittany Krebs, Jan Causey, Betty Terry) attending an introductory retreat in Nashville.  Since then, we have been meeting weekly for an hour of prayer, reflection on Scripture and holy conversation.  We've taken the next step by enlarging the group to include six others (Bill Bariteau, Lisa Grady, Earle Foskett, Jean West, and Julia Tate).  Bo Prosser of CBF is our coach for this journey that will in time include the church family.  Until then, I ask that you support the Dawnings group with your prayers.

I look forward to sharing in the celebration of Easter and the unfolding journey ahead.
